During the month of October, we will be donating $1 for every frame sold to Optometry Giving Sight in support of World Sight Day on October 12th.
World Sight Day is an annual day of awareness to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. It is supported by many healthcare organizations all around the world, including Optometry Giving Sight which leads the global coalition.
The money we raise will fund projects that have and will continue to transform the lives of tens of thousand of individuals, providing vital support to community education and advocacy activities to raise awareness of the importance of eye health and promote the role of the optometrist as primary eye care provider.
Since 2007, Optometry Giving Sight disbursed over $22 million in more than 72 sustainable eye care projects in 38 countries.
These projects helped to:
- provide basic eye care services to over 7.6 million people
- train more than 14,000 eye care personnel
- support the establishment of 133 vision centers
