Dear Patients and Friends of Colchester Eye Care and Hebron Eye Care,

I would like to start by wishing you all a Happy New Year, full of health and happiness!

Next I’d like to thank you all for allowing me, and my entire eye care family, to get to know you, and care for you for these 25 years. It is, truly, an absolute pleasure.

Drs. Dempsey and ParadisWendy and I also wanted to let you all know about some changes going on, “behind the scenes” here, at Colchester and Hebron Eye Care. I have accepted a fantastic opportunity: I am going to change my role from practice owner, to that of employee. Dr. Nicholas Paradis has taken over as the owner of both offices.

Dr. Paradis started with the practice in January of 2020, so I am sure many of you have already had the opportunity to meet him, and already know what a caring person and doctor he is. I am very excited to stay on, and continue to do what I love–care for my wonderful patients–while working for Dr. Paradis. I plan to see patients for many years to come, and am very excited to care for my patients without all the extra pressures of running the businesses.

I have chosen Dr. Paradis not only because of his extensive credentials and background, but also because he shares the same philosophy in caring for our eye care family with all his heart, thereby ensuring that all of our patients will continue to receive the same comprehensive, friendly, personal, quality eye care they have always had, at both Colchester and Hebron Eye Care.

I, along with my wife Wendy, have poured our heart into both offices, and cared for this practice like it was one of our kids. Knowing it will continue to be cared for that same way makes this transition feel so right to us. The doctors you have been seeing, including myself and Dr. Paradis, Dr. Alexandra Sadanowicz, Dr. Zack Tlumak, Dr. Natalia Pisklak, and all the incredibly talented and caring staff you have come to love, will all be here for you, with the same warm smiles and friendly attitude.

He received his BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Hartford and Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 2015. He completed internships at East Boston Community Health Center, and the Columbus Ohio VA Hospital, as well as training at a private practice in Beverly Hills, CA, and Vision Therapy training in Fairfield, CT. Upon graduation he joined the staff at TotalVision, and practiced there for 5 years before moving to Colchester and Hebron Eye Care in January of 2020, as well as opening his own practice in September 2020, Wild Apple Eye Care in Centerbrook, CT. Dr. Paradis is a board member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists and an active member of the American Optometric Association. In closing, we feel confident that you will continue to see the dedication to people, to fashion and to technology that you have always seen at Colchester Eye Care and Hebron Eye Care. I love this group of talented people that I work with, and enjoy catching up, and caring for, all of my wonderful patients. I greatly value our relationship, and thank you for your loyalty and friendship over the years. I look forward to continuing seeing you all for years to come.

Warmly LOOKing forward to SEEing you soon,

Dr. Thomas Dempsey
