Take a few minutes to get to know & see the friendly faces of our doctors, optical and office staff. We can do exams in Spanish & Polish too!
Our experienced Opticians and optical staff will assist you and take as much time with you as needed to find the perfect frames for you and your family.
Our office staff is incredibly knowledgeable and the friendliest staff around. They are here to assist you from start to finish.
Karin is one of those people you like the minute you meet her. She is a great combination of intelligent, caring and driven. She loves working with the public and is a pleasure to work with. She will likely be the first face you see when you walk in our office and we know she will do everything she can to make your visit very pleasant.
Karin grew up in Colchester and graduated from Bacon Academy. She resides in East Hampton with her husband and four children. She has thirteen years of office administration working in a healthcare center located in Wallingford, CT. Karin also has experience working for the East Hampton Public Schools in the office and the Autism Dept.
She is very happy to join the Colchester Eye Care family where she can work closely with the doctors, optical and office staff to provide quality, professional and caring services to all its patients. It is also fun for her to be back in her old home town and reacquainting with old friends. She is never too busy to say hello!
We feel lucky to have found another kind, funny, smart person to work with our eye care family. Come on in and meet Karin for yourself.
There really is something about Mary! Actually, there are many things – she is smart, sweet, funny, organized, caring, honest and true. To meet her is to like and respect her.
Mary has been a medical office manager for 25 years and she really knows her stuff! The doctors that she worked for in the past could not say enough good things about her and we now know why. We hope we never have to tell a future employer how wonderful she really is!!!
Mary is a state and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator. She spends her spare time caring for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and migratory birds. In addition to the wildlife that regularly passes through, she shares her home in Lebanon Ct, with a permanent assortment of dogs, cats, horses, goats, a potbellied pig, and an African grey parrot. Needless to say, things are hopping at her house!
Mary states that “The main reason I decided to join Hebron Eye Care is because it is important to me to work with people who lend a personal touch in caring for their patients and who I enjoy working with. It is also very important to me to be able to look forward to going to work every day!”
Kim is our newest eye care family member and is wonderful. She is extremely sweet and caring and will always do her best to help you out with anything you may want or need.
Kim is originally from MA, lived in FL for quite a few years before moving back to New England. She currently resides in Andover. Her background includes a long history of customer service, ranging from Walt Disney World (at the MGM/Hollywood Studios) to Barnes & Noble. She loves to help people, whether it’s lending a second opinion when buying a pair or glasses to finding that perfect day and time when scheduling an appointment.
When not spending time at the Hebron Eye Care and Colchester Eye Care front desk, she can be found at home with her husband, dog, and two cats. Probably watching “geek” TV shows, which she loves to chat about!
Megan has a great understanding of eye care. She is a jack of all trades. She comes to us with excellent experience both at the front desk and in optical from her previous position.
Megan says: “I am not only new to Colchester and Hebron Eye Care, I am also new to Connecticut – I recently moved to Middletown! I am excited to embark on this new journey with amazingly welcoming co-workers! Back in my hometown in New Jersey I worked for an Optometrist Office as well. There I touched upon various aspects of the office. Here at Colchester and Hebron Eye Care I get to further my knowledge and broaden my experience in both the front desk and optical side of the eye care world.
In my free time I enjoy exploring new places, I have a lot of places to see in beautiful Connecticut! I also enjoy cooking and “do it yourself” projects and crafts.
I have a “glass half full” type personality and face the world with an optimistic attitude! I am easy to talk to and look forward to meeting new people, both inside and outside of the office!”
Alice is new to Colchester Eye Care but is already like the office Mom. Her official title is Receptionist and she is a fabulous one. Beyond that she brings so much to our office. She is incredibly cheerful and loving to everyone. She is that coworker who brings in incredible baked goods frequently and goes above and beyond to help everyone celebrate everything. There will never be a birthday missed at our office! You can’t help but love Alice!
She comes to us with an extensive background in customer service. She came highly recommended from those that she worked with as one of the nicest and most caring people they had ever worked with and we now know why!
Alice writes: “I am married with two great children. I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, music and entertaining.
I was very lucky to be offered a job working at Colchester Eye Care. The doctors are all very dedicated, professional and caring. The people I work with are wonderful! I truly enjoy working here and being a part of the Colchester Eye Care family.”
We are excited that we have found a fabulous addition to our eye care team. Jenna comes to us with years of optical experience in many different roles. She is taking that knowledge and her upbeat personality and bringing it to join right in with our amazing staff at Colchester and Hebron Eye Care. You will never know where you will meet up with Jenna in our offices. She can do it all and do it all really well.
Jenna says: ” I happily joined the team here at Colchester and Hebron Eye Care, where I do a little bit of everything from receptionist duties, to optical measurements, to technician pretests. Not only am I new to the team, but I’m also new to Connecticut, I moved from Maine to Coventry, CT. Excited to start this new journey with some great new co-workers and doctors, that gave me the most heartwarming welcome. Back in Maine, I worked in Optical for two years as an assistant manager helping patients pick out frames and lenses to best meet their needs. I also worked for an Optometry office for two years as Lead Optometric Technician where I reviewed patients history, and performed the diagnostic testing before the doctor completed the comprehensive exam.
I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, hiking, fishing, and really anything that has to do with the outdoors. I really enjoy working for Colchester and Hebron Eye Care because I know all the patients are getting the most exceptional care that they can possibly get for their eyes. The doctors provide personalized care for each patient and have a way of making you feel right at home to get all of your eye needs taken care of. I love working here! The staff are all extremely compassionate about their jobs, and have a way of making you feel comfortable and part of the family.”
If you have any questions about your insurance, Laurie is the one to ask. She works tirelessly to get the best coverage for our patients. She had worked with insurances in the past with CVS and brought that knowledge to our practice. She currently checks benefits for all our patients, submits all the bills to the insurance and follows up when there are any issues. Laurie has spent her entire career in customer service and would be happy to help you in any way possible.
Laurie is married with 2 children. She has a son Ian who is going to Middlesex Community College and a daughter Amelia in 9th grade. Laurie grew up in Colchester and currently lives in East Hampton.
Laurie says “I love working for Colchester Eye Care because it feels like a second family and home. Everyone is so friendly and helps out whenever and where ever they can to support one another.”
Wendy is Dr. Dempsey’s wife. In 1998 she left her career as an actuary to help her husband with the business of Colchester Eye Care. She has assumed many roles over the years: receptionist, optician, office manager, frame stylist, and technician.
Wendy is currently linked from her home in Hebron and wearing the bookkeeper’s hat. She is the queen of email so feel free to email her with any questions or concerns. While she misses all the patients/friends she used to see on a daily basis she loves staying home with her two daughters!
