Our Eye Doctors

Dr. Nick Paradis is an Advanced Care Optometrist and the owner of Colchester and Hebron Eye Care, as well as Wild Apple Eye Care in Essex.
Dr. Paradis graduated from the University of Hartford with a BS in Biomedical Engineering in 2011. He continued his education at the New England College of Optometry in Boston where he received his Doctorate of Optometry in 2015. He completed internships at East Boston Community Health Center, and the Columbus Ohio Veterans Affairs Hospital, as well as training at a private practice in Beverly Hills, California and Vision Therapy training in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Upon graduation, he joined the staff at TotalVision and practiced there for 5 years before moving to Colchester and Hebron Eye Care in January of 2020. In September 2020, he opened his own practice, Wild Apple Eye Care in Essex, while continuing to work at Colchester and Hebron Eye Care. Dr. Paradis sees patients at Colchester & Hebron Eye Care, and Wild Apple Eye Care in Essex.
Dr. Paradis is a Board Member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists and an active member of the American Optometric Association.
In his free time, Dr. Paradis enjoys playing golf, riding his bike, and making pizza.

Dr. Tom Dempsey is a graduate of Lafayette College and SUNY Optometry. Upon graduation in 1991, he followed his wife Wendy to Connecticut and began his career in eye care. He joined Eye Care Associates in Prospect, CT as the practice's pathology and ocular disease specialist. He took over Colchester Eye Care in 1997 and opened Hebron Eye Care in 2006. In January 2022, he sold both practices to Dr. Nick Paradis. Dr. Dempsey continues to see patients in both locations, and treasures caring for the wonderful families in the local communities.
Dr. Dempsey practices family eye care with special interests in ocular disease, dry eye management, refractive surgery and contact lenses. He also loves working with children. He has two beautiful daughters of his own that you will feel like you know once you've visited his office.
Dr. Dempsey is one of the most caring people in the world. He puts everyone's needs before his own. He is the type of doctor that will call and check up on his patients long after the office has been closed not because he has to, but because he is still thinking about them and really cares to know how they are doing. He truly loves his profession and patients.
He is Advanced Care certified, a member of the American Optometric Association, The Connecticut Association of Optometrists, National Kidney Foundations Team Connecticut, The Colchester Lions Club, VOSH Connecticut (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and is very involved with promoting organ and tissue donation.

Dr. Alexandra (Ola) Sadanowicz is an Advanced Care Optometrist who specializes in ocular disease. She sees patients in both Colchester and Hebron.
Dr. Sadanowicz grew up locally in Bolton, and graduated from the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor. She went on to study Biology and Creative Writing at Colby College in Maine and graduated cum laude in 2008. She continued her education at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, and graduated as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honors society in 2012. Winner of the Marchon Eyewear Award for Excellence in Practice Management, Dr. Sadanowicz furthered her interest in geriatrics, ocular disease, and primary care through a residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Newington, CT. During the course of this residency, Dr. Sadanowicz gained significant experience in the treatment and co-management of macular degeneration, glaucoma, ocular trauma, inflammatory eye diseases, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts.
Both during her education and after graduating, Dr. Sadanowicz has worked in several pediatric and specialty practices and loves working not only with children of all ages but also those with special needs. She is fluent in the Polish language and can perform eye exams for Polish speaking patients. Dr. Sadanowicz is a member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists as well as the American Optometric Society.
Dr. Sadanowicz is married with 2 children and still resides in Bolton. In her free time, Dr. Sadanowicz enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, gardening, skiing, and quilting.

Dr. Zack Tlumak graduated from the University of Michigan in 2014 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Music. Following his undergraduate education, Dr. Tlumak obtained his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, where he served as Vice President of the Class of 2019 and was winner of the Clinical Excellence Award for his class. To further his training, Dr. Tlumak completed a residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Haven, CT with a focus on ocular disease, low vision rehabilitation, and acquired brain injury.
Throughout his education and following graduation, Dr. Tlumak has worked in various settings including hospital-based, commercial, private practice, community health centers, and homeless shelters. Dr. Tlumak sees patients at Colchester & Hebron Eye Care, and Wild Apple Eye Care in Essex.
In his free time, Dr. Tlumak enjoys playing golf, reading books, and napping with his dog.

Dr. Natalia Pisklak graduated cum laude from University of Massachusetts in Boston with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She then pursued a degree in Optometry at New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston. She was active with community service during her training including being the glasses coordinator for a VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) mission trip, and partaking in a week-long trip to the Dominican Republic helping to see over a 1000 patients with her classmates. After graduating from NECO, Dr. Pisklak further pursued her interest in advanced ocular disease and primary care by doing a residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Newington, CT. During this time, she worked alongside optometrists as well as retinal and glaucoma specialists on the treatment and comanagement of advanced glaucoma, macular degeneration, inflammatory eye diseases, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and other rare retinal disorders.
Throughout her education, Dr. Pisklak has worked in multiple community health centers, hospital-based settings, and private practices where she gained experience in contact lenses, pediatrics, and low vision. Dr. Pisklak sees patients at both Colchester and Hebron Eye Care.
